Paris is certainly known for its spectacular architecture and the Notre Dame, or Our Lady of Paris, is one of the best.
It is situated on the Ile de la Cite in the 4th arrondissement.
The ground breaking for this cathedral was in 1163 and the building was finally finished in 1345. It was one of the first buildings in the world to use flying buttresses to support the walls.
If you want to go in and have a look around, then I suggest you get there early as the queues can be as spectacularly long as the cathedral itself.
